Description

General Description:

Oversee projects related to delivery of expert witness testimony and/or consulting services for Family Law and other related litigation engagements.  Services include valuation, forensic accounting, litigation support, participation in mediation/settlement discussions, and testimony.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversight/performance of financial analysis
  • Oversight/performance of research functions
  • Preparation and/or review of written reports and graphical exhibits
  • Development of staff members, both technically and professionally
  • Interaction with client in engagement-management role
  • Delivery of expert testimony
  • Delivery of marketing and/or technical presentations
  • Delivery of work product in timely fashion, as fiscally planned
  • Development of practice management systems to enhance ability to deliver work product

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Solid valuation background
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent client-management skills
  • Critical and logical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to critically analyze financial statements and other financial documents
  • Understanding of litigation process
  • Ability to critique alternative arguments/opinions
  • Familiarity with intermediate-level accounting issues (reporting systems, managerial accounting, tax returns)
  • Ability to work with changing client-imposed deadlines

Education and/or Training:

  • 3 or more years of relevant consulting experience in valuation, corporate finance, or assurance/accounting services.  Experience in Family Law setting preferable.
  • 4 year degree
  • 1 designation preferable (CPA, CFA, ASA, ABV, CFE)
