Description

Lancaster Pollard is a leading financial services firm focusing exclusively on the senior living, healthcare and affordable housing sectors, nationwide. Lancaster Pollard provides its clients, which include both tax-exempt and for-profit organizations, private equity backed firms, REITs, investors, and lenders, with a full suite of financing and strategic solutions.  This includes investment banking, mortgage banking, private equity, a variety of direct balance sheet lending options, preferred equity, and mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory services.

Position Summary:

Lancaster Pollard is currently seeking to hire Associates for its headquarters located in Columbus, Ohio with the potential to relocate to a regional office in Atlanta, Austin, Kansas City, Philadelphia or Newport Beach in the future. Associates at Lancaster Pollard spearhead the analytical and underwriting functions within specific transactions undertaken by the firm while serving as the primary contact for clients. These opportunities include exposure to all products offered by the firm as well as direct contact with Managing Directors and senior bankers within the firm. 

The focus of the Associate pool is to develop team members that have a broad view of the capital markets and a deep understanding of Lancaster Pollard’s offerings so that each client is provided the best possible outcome. As a growing firm with expanding services, there is excellent potential for promotion within the company, out of the Associate position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis for both debt and equity transactions
  • Creation of credit profiles, mortgage insurance applications, offering memoranda, management and board presentations, pitch books and other material relevant to originating and executing leveraged finance, private financings, M&A and financial advisory transactions
  • Deal management from engagement to closing including day-to-day interactions with clients, agencies, investors and other funding participants
  • Review and negotiation of legal documents
  • Involvement in corporate and strategic initiatives

  • Ability to clearly articulate credit and business concepts both verbally and in writing
  • Initiative and strong sense of personal motivation as well as responsibility
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Able to work independently as well as function in a team-oriented setting
  • Exceptional with Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or related field required
  • MBA with emphasis in finance, accounting and/or real estate preferred

Experience:

  • Formal education or work experience in senior living, healthcare and/or affordable housing sectors preferred
  • FINRA Series 52 and/or 79 helpful
