Execute Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Pre-Deployment Training (Combat Battlefield Readiness Airmen or CoBRA) at Tyndall AFB, FL. Training audience includes Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians or other Department of Defense personnel deemed necessary for this specialized training. Class size averages 40-60 personnel per class. This training complies with all applicable USAF, AETC, ACC and OSHA/AFOSH safety instructions and standards. Additionally, instructors maintain all training qualifications IAW the USAF standard training plan via Advanced Distance Learning System (ADLS) and assist with updating curricula and leading instruction.


  • Graduate of Naval School, Explosive Ordnance Disposal with 8 years experience in the EOD career field

  • Operational combat experience in relevant area of expertise.

  • Graduate of Basic Instruction Course or equivalent instructional training with 4 years experience as a technical training instructor

  • Skill/certifications to instruct and help lead instruction.

  • Possess practical experience in training requirements. Instructors’ certification credentials shall be provided to the designated COR.

  • Instructors with proper qualifications are authorized use of all munitions and explosives in support of training activities and must complete initial and annual explosives handling training proficiency and follow applicable directives and instructions to ensure safety of trainees and themselves. They use EOD 60-series and AFI 91-201, Explosive Safety Standards, as their guide.

  • Possess a current civilian driver’s license and acquire certification, using approved local lesson plans, and become certified as a trainer for tactical military vehicles to include HMWVVs, and MRAPs

  • Knowledge of DoD and USAF directives governing EOD programs and related ordnance.

  • Skill to communicate clearly in oral and writte form. Able to speak professionally in front of senior leadership and groups of up to 50 functional experts

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Able to produce professional written products to include emails, memorandums and staff packages.

  • SECRET Clearance Required
