Job Title: Call Taker/Dispatcher
Title: Call Taker/Dispatcher
Hours/Shifts: AM, PM, and Swing Shifts; 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts.
Requirements: Excellent customer service skills including: friendly personality, polite disposition, and willingness to help all customers regardless of their situation. Excellent management skills including: computer proficiency, multi-tasking skills, speed typing (approx 40 wpm) and leadership qualities.
Tasks: Level 1 will be responsible for all call taking/dispatching duties including:
- Basic customer service
- Call intake
- Dispatching units
- Giving wheelchair and gurney price quotes
Level 1 will be responsible for the following data entry duties:
- Entering patient demographics
- Entering time stamps and mileage
- Entering patient insurance information
- Reporting of runs
- Grouping runs
- Scan and attach charts ONLY
- Put all completed charts in Working/Weekly Basket
Knowledge: Although there are no minimum requirements for prior field experience, dispatchers working for NORCAL Ambulance are expected to contain minimal knowledge on the following areas: medical terminology, customer service, and local geography.
