Description

As citizens of Pinellas County our ability to enjoy our $4 billion in county assets requires a robust enterprise-wide Asset Management System to track inventory, history, costing, etc. on our roads, bridges, buildings, parks, preserves, beaches, etc.  And with the Office of Technology and Innovation, a newly formed technology team supporting departments such as Public Works, Utilities, Parks and Preserves, the multi-year EAM (enterprise asset management) project has moved to the next phase where we are seeking a Cityworks System Administrator to continue our progress forward.  This is a technical position responsible for centralized administration of Pinellas County’s asset management system, Cityworks AMS. This position will be responsible for assisting the operational departments in creating/modifying application configurations, workflows, services, reporting and other application requirements. The incumbent in this role manages the day-to-day operations of the Cityworks application including system performance, configuration, integrations, upgrades and maintenance; establishes, maintains and manages user accounts, identity and security, as well as develops procedures to maintain security and protect the systems; assists domain administrators by providing technical support and expertise, as well as collaborates with training staff to assist in preparation of training modules and materials.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education and Years of Experience Requirements:

  • 7 years of general technical and professional experience in information technology with experience in all 7 specific areas of experience listed below.
  • Associate’s degree and 5 years of general technical and professional experience in information technology with experience in all 7 specific areas of experience listed below.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of general technical and professional experience in information technology with experience in all 7 specific areas of experience listed below.
  • Master’s degree and 1 year of general technical and professional experience in information technology with experience in all 7 specific areas of experience listed below.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience.  

Specific Areas of Experience:

1.     Knowledge of asset management best practices and theory.

2.     At least 1 year of experience with data analysis/information systems.

3.     At least 1 year of experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

4.     High level of proficiency with administration and usage of an Asset Management System, such as Cityworks.

5.     Knowledge of ArcGIS and the ESRI software suite.

6.     High level of proficiency in the use of computerized office equipment and programs (e. g. MS Office to include Access or other database program, MS Windows 7/10, Adobe products).

7.     Customer service and 1 year of team leadership or supervision.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.  

Highly Desirable 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of ETL tools (SSIS) and data warehousing.
  • Experience with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) or other ELT/Queue technologies.
  • Knowledge of county or local government operations and services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or closely related field preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creates/modifies application configuration setups/workflows supporting business requirements.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the application including system performance, configuration, integration and maintenance.

  • Participates in project work providing support to project teams, with the ability to lead large efforts.
  • Meet with customers to analyze requirements and formalize functional specifications.
  • Utilize beneficial technology, industry best practices, champion its adoption, and provides direction/ leadership while working through appropriate channels/processes.
  • Maintains and builds positive relationships within the OTI Team and with members of other County Agencies and Vendors.
  • Supports and ensures compliance with the OTI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
