Job Summary:

The Eastern Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales actions and results within the SHIMANO North American Bicycle Division to our Eastern based regional sales agencies. SHIMANO North American Bicycle Division brands are SHIMANO, PEARL iZUMi, LAZER Helmets and PRO BIKEGEAR with a main focus of supporting and managing the sales actions and results for the Independent Bicycle dealer.

The individual will be responsible for the implement of strategic sales and promotional plans with the primary focus of increasing sales and revenue and enhancing the brand presence within the US market. The position will require living in the territory (Charlotte) and will require significant travel in and outside of the territory.

This position will be based in the market (Charlotte) and will work from a home / satellite office.                                        *70% travel required

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages regional sales objectives to the territories; while working close with our sales agency teams
  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and forecast for the sales Agencies in support of national objectives.
  • Communicate sales strategy to Shimano North American Bike’s factory and external sales teams.
  • Communicate and manage annual sales targets for all Team Shimano brands for the regional Sales Territories
  • Coaching, Mentoring and developing outside rep team members
  • Manage internal relationships with Sales, Go-to-Market and Supply Chain teams.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with external reps, agencies principals and customers.
  • Assist on special projects as needed with the executive team and department heads to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Be an advocate for the Independent Bicycle Dealer within Shimano North American Bicycle Division while understanding the needs across all channels and the entire business.
  • Strategic management of field sales representatives (independent and company).
  • Provide outstanding customer service and follow-up with external sales team.
  • Develop and monitor multi-level sales programs for account base.
  • Develop and monitor sales motivational programs, sales training and merchandising for external sales team.

Job Qualifications:

  • (5+) Sales Rep and Rep Management Experience
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience with independent bicycle retailer’s/bicycle industry.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience with product and brand management
  • Understanding of bicycle OEM and OTC business models.
  • Thorough knowledge of bicycle components.
  • Experience managing people and working across cultures (Japan a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree
