Evaluates emerging technology and implements new systems, processes and procedures to maintain the security of bank personnel and information assets. Ensures the bank security practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, meet or exceed currently accepted standards, and remain applicable and relevant in the current security environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implements and manages security systems including anti-virus, data loss prevention, log management, physical access management, and application firewalls.
Researches, evaluates and makes recommendations on emerging security technology.
Works with application development and Infrastructure groups to identify and mitigate unacceptable technical security risks.
With the assistance of business units, committees and project groups, identifies security issues and controls that mitigate risks to an acceptable level.
Monitors legislative, regulatory, and marketplace environments to ensure the bank security practices comply with those requirements and remains current with accepted practices.
Performs or facilitates infrastructure and application-level security testing.
Conducts investigations of potential non-compliance with Enterprise Security policies and procedures.
Works with legal, human resources, compliance and other groups to implement legal holds, perform investigations and produce responsive materials as necessary.
Develops and periodically reviews security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
Establishes and reviews standards on application security for developers to use when coding CoBank applications.
Monitors user administration activities to ensure the function is performed in accordance with established procedures
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable technical field, or work experience which demonstrates comparable technical abilities
8 years’ experience in information technology, with at least 5 years’ focused on information security principles.
3 years’ experience in project management.
Experience in information systems risk analysis and management
Knowledge and experience using security tools and applications, including firewalls, anti-malware, data-loss prevention, log/event management, intrusion detection/prevention
Knowledge of finance environment and banking processes/applications
Knowledge of current Windows environment, MS Office products, Unix, and Active Directory
Experience configuring, maintaining, or auditing application systems security controls
Knowledge of generally accepted IT Security Standards including ISO and NIST
CISSP, CISA, CRISC or similar security and risk certifications
Experience in oral and written communication, particularly with upper management and business unit representatives.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Rotational on call on a 24/7 basis.
