Hamilton Island has a range of upscale dining options offering unique dining experiences across a range of diverse cuisines and settings. 

Pool Terrace is seeking a motivated and professional Restaurant Manager to oversee the smooth operation of this very busy resort restaurant. With a front of house staff up to 24 people, the successful candidate will utilize their skills acquired from working in a leadership F&B role to effectively manage this 7 day operation.

About the Role

  • Based within our Reef View Hotel, Pool Terrace is a modern Australian restaurant offering buffet dining for breakfast, and an a la carte service for lunch and dinner
  • Full time permanent position; shifts on a rotating roster
  • Salaried position based on 40 hour work week; however from time to time you will be required to work in excess of these hours within reason when the island is busy  
  • Manage a front of house team up to 24 to ensure a smooth running of service
  • Ensure guest satisfaction at all times; deal with all requests, enquiries and complaints in an efficient and courteous manner
  • Restaurant opening and closing duties as required, including cashiering functions
  • Identify staff development needs and implement training; conduct performance reviews
  • Responsible for staff rostering, stocktaking, ordering, monitoring wastage and wage costs
  • Maintain Hamilton Island’s consistent standards of excellence
  • Live on island position

About You

  • QLD RSA
  • Previous management experience in large, fast paced restaurants. Hotel based restaurant experience will be highly regarded
  • Australian and International wine knowledge
  • Exemplary organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Impeccable personal presentation
  • Ability to work under pressure and autonomously
  • Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality an asset
