This position executes light to medium installations to customer vehicles both individually and as a member of work teams.


Essential Duties

  • Select proper units to be accessorized as directed by a Lead or Supervisor
  • Inspect vehicles for damage (interior & exterior) prior to accessories installation
  • Drive and park vehicle in designated working areas; may drive units onto ramps for preparation of accessory placement, application decals, or through roof rack station, or mechanical pit
  • Inspect incoming materials, parts, and assemblies, etc., for conformance to company standards prior to installation
  • Perform installation of various light to medium factory accessories using a variety of air, power and hand tools
  • Read accessory instructions to insure correct accessories are installed on designated units in accordance with work orders and working to established specifications
  • Log completed work into VIPS
  • Meet or exceed established production and quality standards
  • Use and update the computer/VIPS as required to track install
  • Set aside any defective parts and Inform Lead person or Supervisor of same
  • Follow established safety guidelines set out in the work areas
  • Train other associates on accessory installations as required
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.    


Additional Responsibilities

  • May remove wrap guard from vehicle exterior
  • Work with limited supervision
  • Read, understand, and utilize VINs, repair orders, purchase orders, purge sheets, and other documents to complete work
  • Understand and follow general company policies and procedures including AWC safety programs
  • Maintain the upkeep of accessory area
  • Keep tools maintained and secure
  • Notify Lead or Supervisor of unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Communicate problems to Lead or Supervisor




Minimum Tools Needed

  • Keys, pens, pencils, power drills, impact wrench, various hand tools
  • Computers, scanners, and VIPS
  • Hoist/Ramps
  • PPE provided, including ergonomic protection, hearing protection, back support, safety glasses, and gloves (impact and no impact)


Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily indoors however outside work is also performed on a regular basis;  associates are exposed to different seasonal weather conditions
  • Associates must be able to work as a team or individually depending on workload.

Minimum Requirements

  • 12th grade reading and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good visual acuity
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles
  • Understand Company and Customer requirements
  • Positively represent AWC
  • Ability to work independent of others and in work teams; exhibit good interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Basic computer skills
  • Follow directions, both written and verbal
  • Able to lift 18 to 22 kg
  • Ability to pass driver’s safety test at 80% or better
  • Ability to adhere to strict production and quality standards without variance
  • Trained in WHMIS; able to read and understand MSDS details
